Get into Energy Pathways!


Get into Energy Career Pathways: (GIECP)

 

The Gaston County Workforce Development Board introduces a new energy career pathway, Nuclear Power Plant Operator/Technician Program.  Classes will be offered at Gaston College.  Attainment of an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Nuclear Energy Technology upon successful completion of courses.  Possible internship/co-op with Duke Energy.

 

Requirements are as follows:

 

Age 16-26

GED/ADHS/High school diploma

No Felony Convictions

Must meet income eligibility

Valid NC drivers license

Drug/Alcohol Free

Orientation Session for Incumbent Worker Training Grants - November 4


The Gaston Workforce Development Board will hold an orientation session on November 4, 2011 on the Incumbent Worker Development Program - 2011/2012 and how to successfully apply for a training grant through our Board.  This will cover the policies; necessary paperwork and an experienced panel of business people will present that have applied for and won a training grant for their current workforce.


All businesses that plan to apply for the Winter Round are required to attend this session.  The next local deadline for applications is 5PM on December 30.  If your business has applied previously, and plans to apply again, this orientation is still required due to policy changes just released.

Accounting Managers and
Other Business Leadership involved in the application process.
